Blind as a bat, covered in scars, I love this bust to death.

I love the skin and the base, they were very fun to make. I used Envirotex Lite for the water. 3rd at Gen Con, Large Figure. Vote! Currently a/n .
I like the composition, and some of the elements, but the technical side is sloppy. Ah, well. Took 4th at GenCon Diorama. Vote! Currently a/n .
What a good mini! It's been far too long since I posted a figure here, but I have a big diorama on the way which is really a source of pride for me =). Here's Kagunk, complete with blood, verdigris, and blotchy ogre skin! The blood was done by mixing some woodland scenics realistic water with a few drops of red ink and a drop of black ink. Verdigris is German Uniform up to Ocean Blue in tiny spots. He's up on cmon, please vote and comment. That's how I get better ;). Vote! Currently a/n .
A very fun mini that I finished off rather sloppily, but I'm still pleased with him. First fig for the new year! I used mainly cold colors, though I think his kilt ended up a bit too warm. Very pleased with the skin, face, and beard. I highlighted up to titanium white in many areas. Anyway, please Vote!Currently a .
This mini was rather quick, though it was done in homage to my favorite Thrones character, Tyrion. I painted him in Lannister livery, after taking some major tips from Marike Reimer's version. This was my first time doing snow, I wanted to make it look like ice and hard snow and I think I did pretty well with that. I also tried to emphasize the arrogance of his features, and play up the contrast between his body (warm) and the base (cold), to show how he never really fit in at Winterfell, because he was a Lannister. on CMON. Here's Lathiem! Took me a few weeks, probably 10-15 hours into him. He's painted as a drow! Recipes on the recipes page. More info on the cmon paragraph. on CMoN. Vote!
I added a page with the recipes of paint that I have used or use frequently. I hope you find it helpful.
Finished a good mini on a sad day. Logan was a real fun time, I learned a lot of important lessons, and I'm feeling good. NMM is a real pain sometimes though, tedious is the word. I hope you like it. Vote! Currently a/n on CMON
A real pleasure to paint, he was fresh off the plate after GenCon 09. My first attempt at NMM, and I'm very happy with the progress I've made. on CoolMiniorNot... I especially loved doing the freehand on the axe. Next up: Logan. Vote!
I painted this fella back in February and I was lucky enough to score 4th place in the large figure category at GenCon. He lost out to a great Takhisis by Tonya Saulia, an orc by Mathieu Fontaine, and a JMD bust by an unknown (to me) painter. He's the first troll I'd ever painted, actually the first Privateer Press fig ever. Really pleased with him. He's up on CMON, so go over there and give him a vote, please. Vote!
Hi there! I'm Sam, and this is my site, milesofminis.com. Miles is my middle name, so I came up with a quasi-meaningful site title. For now I'm hosted on webs, but soon I hope to get to a paid domain. Here's where I post my painted miniatures. This page will have new minis, and the gallery will have older ones that 'rotate out'. Please check out the site in depth. It's sparse at the moment, but my hope is that it'll fill out with time. All the painting and web design is my own. Thanks for looking!
